Bio
Emily Shetler’s work has appeared in the New York Times, the Hopkins Review, and the Delacorte Review, among others. Her writing has received support from the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing, the Oregon Arts Commission, the Mineral School, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
At Madison, she completed an MFA in creative writing (fiction) and MA in journalism and mass communication. She received a campus-wide Teaching Assistant Award for Innovation in Teaching, as well as other student-nominated teaching awards. She led comics workshops as part of the Oakhill Prison Humanities Project, and she most recently taught English Composition at Tacoma Community College, working inside the Washington Corrections Center for Women.
